Non-Native Species Extermination Bill, H.R. 767, unanimously passed the U.S. House of Representatives last month. Please contact your Senator and urge them to vote NO on H.R.767 when it comes to the Senate floor. This bill, officially called the Refuge Ecology Protection, Assistance, and Immediate Response Act (or REPAIR Act), includes feral cats as one of the species targeted for destruction.

Here’s a picture of several of my feral cats, turned in-door cats. As you can see by the pictures, they are no longer feral. I can’t imagine my life without these wonderful cats.

Take Action NOW — Here’s How

Please call, email or send a letter (or all 3) to your Senator urging them to vote NO on H.R. 767 when it comes to the floor of the Senate. Below is a sample letter I sent to my Senator through IDA (In Defense of Animals). Copy and paste it, change it if you want, but please sent it! And, tell your friends to as well!

Dear Senator Feinstein,

I am writing as a constituent and a voter to ask that you please
vote No on H.R.767 when it comes up for a vote on the Senate
floor.

Officially called the Refuge Ecology Protection, Assistance, and
Immediate Response Act (or REPAIR Act), H.R.767 includes feral
cats as one of the species targeted for destruction. The bill
would place no restrictions on the species that may be killed or
the methods used to eliminate them, and allow the federal
government, using taxpayer money, to enlist hunters and trappers
as the exterminating agents.

The government need not pursue the eradication of feral cats to
protect native animals. Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) programs
are the most humane and effective way to manage feral cat
populations while preserving wildlife. Please vote No on H.R.
767.

Sincerely,

The IDA’s petition I mentioned in my Dec. 12 blog, has been taken down but is urging everyone to contact our Senators and friends. I have asked them to put it back up and will let you know when/if that happens.

Lee here. Yeah, please save my feral cousins. I for one love my new sister, CoCo. (Could live without Snobal but I wouldn’t want her killed!) Nuff said, Lee .
