Yep, at the Wild Animal Zoo in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui Province, a dog is playing wet nurse to a a tiger cub and three lion cubs. Below are two photos:

The tiger and lion moms refused to feed their cubs so the Chinese resorted to the next mom they could find, this wonderful black and white dog. Isn’t it adorable?!

Cats throw up for many different reasons — hair balls, stress, eating a poison plant or substance, just eating too fast, or they may have worms.

You’ll know if it was from hair because you’ll see hair in the throw up. In my experience, very young kittens, long hair cats, and cats over 3 years old throw up more often with cats over 10 throwing up the most.

Young kittens tend to eat too fast and they also will eat then run around like crazy which will upset their stomach. Just like humans, cats can get an upset stomach from stressful situations. For cats, that can be a trip to the vet, a new cat added to the family, or a new baby in the house. Cats who are not used to children could get stressed when small kids are introduced and they run around making noise or tormenting the cat.

A more serious reason can be that they have tape worms. If you suspect that, check their bottoms. If she has tape worms, you’ll probably find a small white (like tiny rice) hanging on. It will be very sticky. That is usually a tape worm and is treated with one dose of Droncit.

If you just got your cat from your local animal shelter or humane society, check the records they gave you of their shots and other treatments. If they were treated for worms it should list it.

You can buy droncit at a vet’s office for about $4 per pill. Dosage is 1 dose depending on the weight of the cat:
Cat weight - Dose
0 - 4.5# - 1/2 tablet
5 - 11 # - 1 tablet
over 11# - 1-1/2 tablet

The best way I’ve found to help eliminate fur balls is to use a FURminator. It really removes the fur that will keep your cats insides cleaner, allowing her to eliminate the fur when she uses the box. Below is a video of a cat being FURminated with the FURminator. It’s an excellent product as I mentioned in my last post. Just wanted to share with you a video to show you just how powerful it is.

I brush my cats daily. I’ve tried every kind of brush to keep the fur to a minimum but they just didn’t seem to work. I finally found a tool that is helping to keep the hair tuffs down. It’s called the FURminator. Here’s a photo…

I have several long haired cats: Xena (Princess Warrior), Snoball and Bruce Kamikazi LEE. Xena and Snoball leave patches of white fur and Lee deposits black hair every where. I was constantly picking up fur tuffs off the carpets and floors.

There’s less fur flying since I started using the FURminator. I tested it against a regular brush, a metal pick, and a metal brush. By far really seems to pick up the most hair. Hair that seems to be hidden beneath the top layer. I still a picking up fur but not nearly as much nor as often (as long as I brush the cats religiously, which they love). If you try it, let me know how it works for you.
