In spite of nation-wide protests, letters, phone calls and emails against the extermination of feral cats at JFK, airport authorities have started trapping the feral cats. The first 10 cats that were taken to the local animal shelter were rescued by rescue groups. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that, given the number of feral cats being trapped at the airport, it will be impossible for animal groups to keep saving them. That means, that the majority of these cats will be killed.

Purrs, Frankie
CoCo here. This is too scary to think about. Not that long ago I was feral. Thank goodness, I now have a good Mom and Dad and a nice home to live in. I can’t imagine the terror of my feline relatives at JFK being hunted down, trapped then probably killed for no reasons but being feral. I’m a cat, so I know wherefore I speak, there’s no food being left for the birds. When you are feral, you eat EVERYTHING, you leave nothing! Those birds are there because of the water — you know “fresh fish” — not for left overs. I can’t think about this any more. I’m going to go sit on my Mom’s lap where I feel safe. Too scared to purr right now, CoCo.
